About Me

Hi! My name is Adam, but you may know me online as 4XOTC or vbwxcx. I am a 16 year old from England.

My interests

I love to learn Spanish and anything to do with computers. I currently am collecting operating systems on different hardware. I have just finished my GCSEs, but in college I would like to do Computer Science, IT and Spanish.

CDs

I love physical media, especially CDs and DVDs.

Did you know: CDs usually hold 700MB of data? That's 80 minutes of audio!

CDs are made of plastic and have "pits" and "lands" to signify 1s and 0s. This binary data could either represent files or audio.

What are my plans for the future?

Further Education

In college, I would like to get A-level Spanish, A-level Computer Science and BTEC (or AAQ or whatever it's called now) IT. In all honesty, I have no idea what IT is, but I'm sure I'll find out in college. Apparently you have to learn HTML, so I've got a bit of a headstart there.

After college, I would like to get a degree in something to do with computers, but I'm not sure what.

My favourite websites:

Below are some of my favourite sites and why I like them.

Internet Archive

Archive.org, also known as the Internet Archive, is exactly what you think it is. It is a digital archive of everything from art to music. Did you know archive.org are the makers of the Wayback Machine? You may be unable to access the Internet Archive, especially using mobile data, as it often contains pirated copyrighted content which ISPs don't like.

Wikipedia

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia on the internet. Anyone can contribute (so be careful of misinformation) meaning there is information about any subject you can think of. In computer science lessons, I always used to play a game of going from one page to another (until they blocked Wikipedia).

W3Schools

W3Schools is the sole reason I'm able to make this website. It has taught me so much about HTML and Python. There are so many tutorials and explanations for a variety of programming languages.

I NEED TO WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT FREE TIME/CHARITY SHOPS

What do I like to do in my free time?

In my free time, I love to scour my local charity shop of CDs and DVDs. You probably guessed that from the earlier section on discs. As I am writing this, earlier this week I bought an encyclopedia on a CD. I also sometimes like to take my dad there and buy him records. One time I found a TV for £8!

Another place I love to buy things from is eBay. I bought the laptop I am typing on for £36.82 (including buyer protection and shipping). And it's touchscreen, how cool is that? (We can ignore that the disc drive doesn't work, I had to install the operating system on the SSD using a different computer and that its battery is awful so I need it plugged in all the time.)

You could probably infer that I also love to learn HTML in my free time. This website is a portfolio of my HTML knowledge. You should try to learn it; it's so fun and I really recommend it.

Stickers

Want to make stickers?

I have a tutorial on how to make stickers such as the ones at the bottom of my website.

Click the sticker above to be transported to the tutorial. It's easy, I promise!
