website designed for laptop/computer
Hi! My name is Adam, but you may know me online as 4XOTC or vbwxcx. I am a 16 year old from England.
My interests at the moment are Computer Science and Spanish. If you couldn't tell, I love to learn about languages, whether that be programming languages or verbal languages. It would be so cool one day if I could learn BSL. I have a linux laptop and I am trying to teach myself some terminal commands.
I love physical media, especially CDs and DVDs.
Did you know: CDs usually hold 700MB of data? That's 80 minutes of audio!
CDs are made of plastic and have "pits" and "lands" to signify 1s and 0s. This binary data could either represent files or audio.
I am currently in college, and I am studying 3 A-levels: Maths, Computer Science and Spanish. Maths is terrible, yet interesting. It is a necessary evil.
After college, I would like to get a degree in something to do with computers, but I'm not sure what. If maths doesn't go so well, I'll go into linguistics since that interests me too.
Below are some of my favourite sites and why I like them.
Archive.org, also known as the Internet Archive, is exactly what you think it is. It is a digital archive of everything from art to music. Did you know archive.org are the makers of the Wayback Machine? You may be unable to access the Internet Archive, especially using mobile data, as it often contains pirated copyrighted content which ISPs don't like.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia on the internet. Anyone can contribute (so be careful of misinformation) meaning there is information about any subject you can think of. In computer science lessons, I always used to play a game of going from one page to another (until they blocked Wikipedia).
W3Schools is the sole reason I'm able to make this website. It has taught me so much about HTML and Python. There are so many tutorials and explanations for a variety of programming languages.
In my free time, I love to scour my local charity shop of CDs and DVDs. You probably guessed that from the earlier section on discs. I also like to learn HTML.
I have a tutorial on how to make stickers such as the ones at the bottom of my website.
Click the sticker above to be transported to the tutorial. It's easy, I promise!
