GCSE Results Day

Oh my god. Today was results day. I could barely eat my breakfast, and on the car journey I thought I would throw up. I was so scared of my results that I opened the envelope in the car with my mum. I was pleasantly shocked by what my results were (see here). All of my hard work has paid off, I'm so happy. I was hoping for a 9 and I got two of them!! And not only did I pass everything, my lowest grade was 6! Today was a good day. If I were to tell anything to myself in the past, I would say that the hard work pays off and to continue working hard. Choose your friends wisely and stay smart. I hope you all share the joy that I have and also get good exam results.

Scary CSS

Today I moved all of the stylesheet into CSS for maintainability. What? An error? It turns out CSS uses a different way of commenting from HTML. So I had to change that. Then, as I was linking the style sheet to every page, some broke! It turns out I just needed to create a new class for all of the pages where they only had one column (e.g. Diary) instead of three. Easily done. Now updating the CSS for my website will be 100× easier. Now I just need to find a way to sync the bottom bar with all of the stickers between webpages.

JavaScript

Yesterday I improved the Music page because I wanted to create a ranked list of my favourite songs without manually changing the ranks. I brainstormed and decided the best way was to learn JavaScript. It's crazy how that was the most time-saving solution but it will save me time in the future; what if the list exceeds 100 songs? I'm never manually changing all of the numbers! I learned how to use variables and for loops. However, I did feel like a bit of a copy/paster because I used a lot of solutions from Stack Overflow (give me a break, it was my first day) but at least I didn't use AI! Today I fixed the countdown timer until Results Day (INSERT LINK HERE) using JavaScript (previously I just updated it manually).

Today I watched Freaky Friday: a film about a mother and daughter involuntarily swapping bodies to see how difficult eachother's lives are. I love the charity shop, because what do you mean that cost me 25p? As I am writing this, I'm listening to a CD I got from the charity shop. The other day I bought a printer for £3! I only bought it because you can apparently use it to print on DVDs and CDs which will really help add something unique for my business.

I feel like I should change the colour scheme and theme and move all of the CSS to a seperate file but I haven't for 2 reasons. 1) I can't decide and 2) I can't be bothered.
